Cases
One of the largest social housing companies in the Netherlands (60.000 houses) aimed to professionalize their working processes and ICT (operational excellence strategy). In the end to fully satisfy their customers and create a better internal culture in which 'thinks just work fine'.
What we did
We did not start with a project plan. The first stage was having good conversations with directors and managers. What was going on? What objectives were important for their future? Together, we created 4 scenarios in which various dimensions were interconnected: strategy, client focus, people and behavior, ICT and business processes. Now we were able to draw the first plans for this project resulting in a organizational development project with the roots in the business processes, collective bottom-up thinking, top down decision making and lots of simple communication actions. We combined old BPR technology with new thinking techniques: World Café, Open Space and hosting in general.
What was the result?
This projects was a 2-day/week assignment for 2 consultants in which we supported the organization in how to continuously improve their business processes and ICT. Moreover they learned how they could improve structurally by thinking together, now and in the future. This again improved their customer satisfaction, and it reduced internal costs dramatically. It is now fun to work at this organiziation!
